Beer: What you crave

CATEGORIES: Beer Editor

Voyeuristic beer porn. That’s what I think of when I visit the new BeerCraving.com, a site focused on disseminating beer information through endless eye-catching user-submitted photos. The premise is simple: Register for an account, crack open a beer, snap a photo of said beer and send it to the site administrators. The result looks something like this:

BeerCraving harnesses the spirit of StumbleUpon, because you ever quite know where you’ll end up when you click on a photo. Sometimes you’re directed to the brewery website, other times a blog review. It’s a portal into the online beer community, and it’s pretty easy to let the hours slip by as you click away. Of course, there’s a local networking component as well: Each photo’s tagged with a location, so if you’re in a user-heavy area like Denver, this site can be a head’s up about interesting beer in your neck of the woods.

With so many new beer sites popping up these days, this one certainly has a fresh angle. Give it a whirl and let me know what you think.
