Well, it had to come to an end sometime.
When I started my beer and running streak, my plan was to drink at least one beer and run at least one mile every single day until my next birthday.
Unfortunately, it came to an end yesterday, on Day No. 179.
The day was like any other. I planned on running after work, but then got distracted by the Stone Brewery Luciferin in my fridge. No problem. I’ve run after drinking plenty of times before.
Of course, this was no ordinary beer. It was 11.8 percent ABV and the world’s first Golden Imperial Oatmeal Stout.
Next thing I knew I woke up on my couch with my face covered in slobber, surrounded by half-eaten McDonald’s and with a late-night infomercial advertising instant beer on TV. The time? 12:01 am the next day.
Oh, well. I’ll just have to start again and set my sights on another beer and running streak, this time with a goal of ending a year from now on April 1st.
Maybe I should have just had a virtual beer.

Say it isn’t so! Good luck with the next round!
Good luck, I really need to do this… But no virtual Shock Top.. Could it actually be worse than the real thing?
