DRAFT Magazine Welcomes The Green Builders Convention

Thursday, Nov. 12. 4-11pm. The Big Pour opens Thurs., Nov. 12, featuring ‘green beers,’ including organic beers and beers from breweries making significant environmental strides whether in the beer-making process, use of green materials or employee programs, among others. The Big Pour opening night joins “Scottsdale Green Street,” host event for guests attending the 2009 Greenbuild International Conference & Expo.

Thursday evening also heralds the City of Scottsdale’s unveiling of a new bridge over the canal designed by Scottsdale’s own Paolo Soleri, a pioneer of sustainability and of Arcosanti fame. The bridge is south of Via Soleri, a street name honoring his internationally acclaimed work. Via Soleri is at the south entrance of the Nordstrom garage at Scottsdale Fashion Square.

A FREE Latin Jazz concert also will perform at Southbridge.

The Big Pour strongly encourages responsible drinking during this event. Guests are encouraged to arrange for designated drivers, taxis, trolley and bus transportation, walking, bicycling, and to dine by patronizing the many area restaurants. Don’t drink and drive!
