Tour de Brew

What happens when American Craft Beer Week and National Bike to Work Week coincide?

You get events like the Tour de Brew, a bicycle tour of Kansas City’s brewing past and present happening this weekend.

The local Boulevard Brewing Company sponsors the May 22nd ride, which includes distances of 15, 30 and 62 miles. Also known as the lager, IPA and Dunkel rides.

The goal of the ride isn’t just to tour a city’s history, but also to promote exercise and bike commuting. As well as have beer at the end.

“We keep throwing money at disease,” one of the organizers told the Kansas City Star. “Let’s throw some money at wellness.”

Know any other events happening this week that combine craft beer and a healthy, active lifestyle? Let us know in the comments.

Thanks to beer runner Derrick for the heads up about the Tour de Brew.
