Cheers to malts: It’s International Stout Day

Happy International Stout Day! You’ve got to love mandates to crack open beer. So, as you can tell from the photo, I’ve got some decisions today. I mean, I could drink them all, but I’ve still got a lot of work to do. Maybe just one—for now.

We’ve got an impressive line-up of stouts in our office. From new arrivals like the hefty 9.9%-ABV Airways Final Destination (“For the end of days…just in case,” reads the label) to regular favorites like the creamy, chocolaty Breckenridge 72 Imperial Chocolate Cream Stout to a whole bunch resting in the cellar (including Marble Imperial Stout 2011, Leinenkugel Big Eddy 2011, Full Sail Black Gold Imperial Stout 2009 and Goose Island Bourbon County Stout 2007, to name a few). Deciding what to open isn’t always easy, but I’m up for the challenge.

If you’re looking for a place to tip back stouts in the company of other malt-heads, swing over to the International Stout Day’s site for a list of events at bars near you. And, of course, tell us what you’re drinking this fine, roasted-malt-infused day.
