Dan Patrick gets his very own beer

The loudest beer release during this weekend’s Super Bowl will most likely be Budweiser Black Crown, but there’s another new beer coming out that plans to make some noise. This Thursday, Redhook releases its newest beer, Audible Ale, at Lucy’s Retired Surfers Bar and Restaurant in New Orleans. The beer was made in collaboration with sports talk radio host Dan Patrick, who apparently helped conceptualize the beer—a sessionable 4.7%-ABV, 22-IBU amber—as well as the pretty cool microphone tap handle. Keep an eye out for the beer on draft (hard to miss, considering the handle) and in bottles soon.

Check out the video above for Patrick’s off-the-cuff reaction as he sees the tap handle for the first time, and then attempts to pour a pint of beer.

As a home brewer and DP fan for the last 20 years, I can see how this is a dream come true. Hope the beer is as tasty as Dan is excited.
