If you’re an industry pro or just happen to Facebook-follow a brewery offering an access code, you already know about Beerjobber. But for the uninitiated, Beerjobber is a first-of-its kind, virtual bottle shop that gives beer drinkers access to the portfolios of smaller breweries that otherwise don’t distribute nation-wide. And it’s finally out of Beta.
On Monday, Beerjobber launches to the consumer market. Currently, the site has more than 1,500 users, and more than 30 breweries (among them, Heretic, Del Norte and Dry Dock). Registered users can shop single beers and variety packs and ship them to almost anywhere in the 35 states Beerjobber’s able to ship to.
The site offers plenty of steals, including a 12-pack of Moylan’s bottles (four 22-ouncers each of Chelsea’s Porter, Tipperary Pale Ale and Danny’s Irish Red Ale) for $49.50—that’s just a little more than $4 a bottle. But there are also a few whoppers—like a mix-pack of Heretic brews for nearly $80. Still, even the steeper prices are still cheaper than airfare to tick off pours from regionally distributed breweries.
Launching just in time for Valentine’s Day, the site’s offering a trio of V-Day brews: Voodoo Love Child, Philadelphia Rowhouse Red and Bison Organic Chocolate Stout.
