Ninkasi is taking its latest IPA for a test run.

Of course, I mean that literally.

The Oregon-based brewery created a test batch of Beer Run IPA, a special release made for runners. After inviting runners to the brewery to try the newest batch, the brewery is now taking its IPA on the road to get more feedback.

Throughout March and April, the Beer Run IPA will be featured at running stores and with running clubs mostly along the West Coast, but also including New York and Shoes and Brews.

The brewery announced all of the locations in a recent blog post.

“The basic premise is that we brewed a beer for runners, because runners like beer,” said Emily Halnon, Social Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Ninkasi.

Many who work at the brewery are runners themselves, and its Eugene locale has a rich running history (it’s known as TrackTown USA). In addition to the the test tour, Ninkasi will be the official craft beer sponsor of the TrackTown16 Fan Festival for the Olympic trials, which will offer a beer to all of the competitors and fans.

Why a Miller Lite Was the Best Beer I’ve Ever Had

I’ve worked in craft beer for nearly five years now. I’ve had the fortune to try some truly amazing brews: Pliny the Elder, Heady Topper, Bourbon Barrel Aged Expedition Stout. Supplication? I’ve got one in my mini-fridge. The reason I’m telling you this is because I want to frame my statements here properly. I’ve had good beer, trust me. The best beer I’ve ever had, though, was a Miller Lite.
