Brett Loves Citra
Casey Brewing and Blending

Glenwood Springs, Colorado

Owner Troy Casey on Brett Loves Citra, a hoppy, 100 percent Brett-fermented beer:

“Brett Loves Citra was a collab with Roaring Fork Brewing Co. in Carbondale. Owner Chase Engel and I both love Citra hops, and I love Brett obviously, and we thought ‘Hey, let’s throw some Brett against a Citra-based beer and then let it go.’ It’s a 100 percent Brett-fermented beer. We’ve released it twice now and the third batch in sitting in barrels right now. We were trying to figure out a name and I just called it Brett Loves Citra as a working name until we found something else, but it kind of stuck, I guess. We have a beer fermenting right now called Brett Loves Mosaic, so we’re going to try to change up the hops every once in a while and see what our Brett cultures do with the different hop varieties.”

Why a Miller Lite Was the Best Beer I’ve Ever Had

I’ve worked in craft beer for nearly five years now. I’ve had the fortune to try some truly amazing brews: Pliny the Elder, Heady Topper, Bourbon Barrel Aged Expedition Stout. Supplication? I’ve got one in my mini-fridge. The reason I’m telling you this is because I want to frame my statements here properly. I’ve had good beer, trust me. The best beer I’ve ever had, though, was a Miller Lite.
