DRAFT REVIEW: Plowboy Porter
Subtle nutty and sweet caramel scents lace through a rich toasted bread aroma and herald what’s to come on the tongue. A big wash of toasted bread dominates the sip, while thin roasted malts race down the tongue’s sides. Earthy hops counter the richness as chocolate and caramel sprinkle sweetness through the bready flavors. Although the flavors converge for a cohesive and pleasurable swallow, this beer lacks the style’s robust roasted malt notes and, in turn, the dry finish expected in the style.
