DRAFT REVIEW: Olfabrikken Porter
You have to love beer that comes from a place called "The Beer Factory" and has an ABV of greater than 7% -- and that's not all this porter has going for it. It starts with a nearly ruby head that won't dissipate and an opaque blackness throughout the glass. Molasses and chicory aromas mix with smoke and roasted barley for a smell you won't soon forget. The flavor kicks in with chocolate, coffee, and wood notes that, along with dried fruit notes and a rich texture, make for one of the most interesting and complex porters in the world. Even if you generally like your beers simple, don't pass up this gem.
