DRAFT REVIEW: La Chouffe
RATING
95

A massive, creamy crown’s a fitting top for this beautiful, glowing, straw-yellow brew. Potent and zesty, the bouquet surges to the nose carrying peppery spice, pears, and sugared lemon peel. Though it starts sweet and sugary, the swallow quickly forms into distinguishable pear and peach tastes. Impressively hopped, the brew’s modest bitterness and bright lemon notes bounce off the lovely fruit flavors, creating an invigorating swallow. Let it warm a bit and allow the caramel to creep in; it’s shallow and short-lived, but a lovely addition to the display. Finishing quite dry with just a touch of hop spice on the back of the tongue, this beer’s flavors weave together well.
