DRAFT REVIEW: IPA
RATING
94

To smell this beer is to know American hops: The aroma is thick with dank, piney scents and a punch of grapefruit peel. As brash as the bouquet is, it does little to fully prepare the palate for the onslaught of sharply focused flavors that lie beneath the foamy head; intense citrus notes with sticky, resinous flowers and swift bready sweetness rush over the tongue. The body is slightly viscous; it’s fully carbonated and has an understated alcohol presence. A bitter explosion from start to finish, Caldera’s luminously golden IPA is a delightful 12-ounce tribute to hops.
