Songs (and beer) by the river

Here’s a cool thing to kick-start your week: Deschutes River Recordings. The Oregon brewery recently teamed up with the Deschutes River Conservancy and an ongoing list of musicians for a series of music videos filmed on the banks of the aforementioned river, the first one featuring the Fruit Bats’ Eric D. Johnson singing “Ballad of Easy Rider” by The Byrds. The well-produced recording is definitely worth checking out: it has the same intimate feel of the Daytrotter sessions, but with more video, more river and, naturally, more beer. Jump on the site to download the video, check out upcoming musicians and, if you’re feeling generous, donate to the Deschutes River Conservancy.

Of course, watching this video won’t make you feel any happier about being tied to a desk today, but at least your donation will help ensure the river will still be as sublime when you eventually have some time off.
