Your Daily Pint for Thursday, May 8, 2014, is: STILLWATER CELLAR DOOR
What it is: A 6.6%-ABV saison brewed with white sage.
What it tastes like: Soft, billowy, bright and utterly quaffable. There’s a clear, rich orange note, but it’s not too juicy; it’s balanced by the tealike sage. Banana esters (courtesy Stillwater’s house saison yeast) round off the profile. The swallow’s full and velvety yet still buoyant—a prickle that’s just below tart adds pop without pinching the cheeks.
More Stillwater: Double down on the saisons and check out the more traditional (yet still interestingly hopped) Stateside Saison.
If you haven’t tried Stillwater yet: …you should: Stillwater Artisanal Ales has been rated one of the world’s top breweries four years in a row on Ratebeer.com.
