You’ve tried fruit ales, collaboration brews and oak-aged batches. What’s next? Beercandy, a line of beer-infused sweets by a co-creator of Great Beer Co.’s award-winning Hollywood Blonde kölsch. Steve Casselman began making candies in the 1990s, starting with a sour lambic lollipop and moving on to caramels and hard candies. “In candy, the only thing that’s bitter is chocolate,” he says, but Cascade hop oil gives his Hopdrops a familiar citrusy bitterness, while lambics and lagers give his chewy caramels a new range of flavors. Taffy is the newest entrant in Casselman’s line, which recently made its way out of his kitchen and into local bottle shops. beercandy.com –Jennifer Roland

Why a Miller Lite Was the Best Beer I’ve Ever Had

I’ve worked in craft beer for nearly five years now. I’ve had the fortune to try some truly amazing brews: Pliny the Elder, Heady Topper, Bourbon Barrel Aged Expedition Stout. Supplication? I’ve got one in my mini-fridge. The reason I’m telling you this is because I want to frame my statements here properly. I’ve had good beer, trust me. The best beer I’ve ever had, though, was a Miller Lite.
