You’ve tried fruit ales, collaboration brews and oak-aged batches. What’s next? Beercandy, a line of beer-infused sweets by a co-creator of Great Beer Co.’s award-winning Hollywood Blonde kölsch. Steve Casselman began making candies in the 1990s, starting with a sour lambic lollipop and moving on to caramels and hard candies. “In candy, the only thing that’s bitter is chocolate,” he says, but Cascade hop oil gives his Hopdrops a familiar citrusy bitterness, while lambics and lagers give his chewy caramels a new range of flavors. Taffy is the newest entrant in Casselman’s line, which recently made its way out of his kitchen and into local bottle shops. –Jennifer Roland
