London website Sabatage Times recently reported on a hipster trend combining club music, fixed gear bike trainer racing, and beer.
The races are often set up at clubs, complete with DJ, and racers pedal their lungs out in short sprints for prizes that include free beer. You can see a video of the frenzied action here.
“Clubbers never get old,” writes Steve McLay, “they just ride round the block for a bit.”
For dorky white dudes like me who have no moves, I think this is the perfect alternative to the dance floor. It kind of levels the playing field.
Is this the next Dance Dance Revolution, or just a fad? What’s your opinion?
