Now you can have an off-centered beer running vacation.

This week Dogfish Brewery announced that it will start accepting reservations for its new Dogfish Inn in Lewes, Delaware.

As I noted when plans for the inn went public, the development has an opportunity to bring in tourists for both beer and outdoor activity purposes.

One local pointed out that it’s strategically located at the Junction and Breakwater trail and the Georgetown Lewes trail with a spur to Milton, home of the Dogfish Brewery. The location overlooks a harbor in historic Lewes, the halfway point between the Dogfish brewpub and distillery in Rehoboth Beach and their production brewery.

You could run roughly a half marathon and a 10K to or from each location, with a night’s stay in between.

“I’m most excited about the trail expansion,” Lisa Grimm commented on my post at the time of the development announcement. “I love running on the Junction & Breakwater trail, but at the moment it ends just as you get into Lewes (when running from Rehoboth), so this is very welcome news. It’s also handy to walk to the outlets via the trail, thus avoiding the need to fight with traffic or parking.”

Learn about the Inn and see more photos on the Dogfish website.

The new IPA

Cloudy, hugely flavorful and a lot less bitter, the new breed of IPA is earning high scores and high praise from fans.
