Don’t miss this stout

Stop what you’re doing, open up your calendar and pencil in an appointment at Avery Brewing this Saturday (or use your iPhone, or whatever). This weekend, the Boulder brewery releases Uncle Jacob’s Stout, a whopping 17.4% ABV imperial stout that rested in bourbon barrels for six months.

The beer’s named after Jacob Spears, who built his Bourbon County Kentucky distillery in the late 1700s—allegedly, he’s the first guy to attach “bourbon” to whiskey—so if the beer’s as epic as Mr. Spears’ contribution to the liquor industry, this is one release you won’t want to miss.
