Your Daily Pint for Tuesday, October 14, 2014: NO-LI BLACKFILL
What it is: A 9.5%-ABV whiskey barrel-aged imperial stout
What it tastes like: This inky brew pours motor-oil thick, and it’s big and chewy on the tongue, just like you’d want from a barrel-aged beer with this much heft. Though complex, its profile’s well constructed, and the flavors flow out easily: Molasses, vanilla and chocolatey sweetness roll effortlessly into a spicy whiskey taste (if you like whiskey and Coke, you’ll love this beer!). It finishes dry with rye and alcohol warmth settling in the throat.
Like this? Expect more: This is No-Li’s first barrel-aged beer, but thanks to its convenient location next door to Dry Fly Distillery, and its proximity to several Washington state wineries, the brewery plans to roll out many more barrel aged beers throughout the year.
