Beer and a Smoke

/ 3,408

Peter Joseph’s “Boozy Brunch” ($17, Taylor) spells out more than 100 eye-opening drinks based on breakfasty liquids like coffee, tea, juice and Champagne. Our fave, the Beer and a Smoke, is a pilsner-and-mezcal spin on a Michelada.

Makes: 1

  • 1 ounce Sombra mezcal
  • 34 ounce fresh-squeezed lime juice
  • 1 dash Bitter Truth celery bitters
  • 4 dashes Cholula hot sauce
  • kosher salt, celery salt and black pepper, for rimming
  • 6 ounces Victory Prima Pils
  • orange and lime zest, for garnish

Combine the first four ingredients and stir with ice in a cocktail shaker. Rim a chilled Collins glass with the kosher salt, celery salt and black pepper. Strain the liquid into the glass, top off with the pilsner and garnish with grated orange and lime zest.
