Additions of guarana, poppy seeds, kola nut and Scottish heather honey seem offbeat, but actually produce a pleasantly accessible aroma. Rich dark caramel scents accented by strawberry hints, grassy hops and heather scents draw up to the nose. At the front of the swallow, bread flavors fuse with poppy seeds and suggest poppy seed bagels. Meanwhile, caramel reaches back, sharp vegetal notes stretch upward and light heather floats above the tongue. A long, dry finish cuts the malty profile with herbal notes that remain on
the tongue.
