Special Amber

The subtle pear esters that accent this beer’s floral hop and sweet bready aroma aren’t to style, but they liven up the bouquet. On the tongue, Special Amber’s defined by its robust toasted bread notes, which seep into the taste buds as the creamy beer washes back. A dose of sweetness (subtle table sugar up front; light caramel in the back) is a bit strong for the Vienna style, yet it adds a welcome counterpoint to earthy hop flavors that swell in the back. Mellow bitterness caps this beer off with a gentle, dry finish.
