Kilt Lifter Scottish Style Ale

RATING
86

While you probably don't think of Arizone as a beer mecca (except, of course, that it's the home of DRAFT), it turns out that sun worshippers do a bang-up job of crafting cool thirst-quenchers. Four Peaks Brewing Company's flagship brew, Kilt Lifter, is a desert beauty with a light amber color and a clean white head that's a bit hoppier in both aroma and flavor than most scotch ales on the market. The addition of peat-smoked barley creates a distinctive smokiness on the palate and is one of this brew's most endearing qualities. When you add its full body and solid hop bitterness, you've got yourself a quality Arizona beer whose only flaw is a slightly sour, acidic note in the finish.
