Whiskey Barrel Quandary

RATING
98

A richly knit aroma entices the nose with raisin, currant and plum that gain sweet depth from coconut and vanilla; smooth alcohol underscores the bouquet while worn leather rounds out the edges. On the tongue, raisin and plum initiate the sip, before sweet coconut and vanilla surface and last well into the finish. A bit of toffee, molasses and peanut brittle pool in the center as the liquid settles into the tongue. Incredibly expressive and complex, this beer’s wood and whiskey character beautifully augments a stunning quadruple. Alcohol is smooth, glowing deep in the chest and bringing a warm flush to the face.
