Tripel Horse

RATING
86

Though it’s brewed stateside, this lightly hazy tripel’s somewhat subdued aroma hits the hallmarks of the Belgian style: orange , light pepper and an aura of higher alcohols. Breadcrust malts arrive first on the tongue; black peppercorn and touches of clove tap dance before fading into a soft finish with a dab of hop bitterness that doesn’t completely chase doughy malt sweetness from the tongue.
