Dubbel Down


A complex, fruity aroma of raisins, plum and currants reaches the nose; bread crust gives the blend some weight. Although the aroma’s packed with fruit, only the raisin translates in the sip: A light wash of raisin bread gains a toasted note as the beer flows back; caramel sweetens the profile along the way; a dry finish cleans up the swallow. A richer body and deeper fruit flavors would bolster this beer.
