Regular Coffee

Sugary sweetness zooms out of the head while dark, roasted coffee shadows it. An imperial cream ale with coffee designed to replicate New Jersey "regular coffee" (that’s with milk and two sugars), this brew tastes as promised: Sugary marshmallowy sweetness leads the way, with firm roasted, dark coffee flavors tucked beneath. As the sweetness recedes, a lovely Kahlua flavor, plus some hazelnut and cherry, remains on the tongue, creating a complexity that’s initially obscured. Alcohol warmth lasts deep into the chest. Though this brew’s drinkability is in the eye of the beholder, it delivers expertly on its concept.
