Forbidden Root

Designed to emulate root beer, this impressively complex oak-aged brew accomplishes its mission. Sweet vanilla, sassafras and a little birch bark entice the nose. On the tongue, root beer flavor pervades, though it’s a bit weightier and much less sweet than sugary soda. Botanical vanilla smoothes over pepper, tobacco and oaky notes. Alcohol’s tucked away, emerging in the end with a dry, tannic finish. Though this compelling brew captures root beer taste, it's praiseworthy for maintaining a firm beer character.
