Tucson, Ariz. might not have weather conducive to growing hops like the Pacific Northwest, but the brewers there are certainly capable of producing comparably good beer. Mild grassy notes in the nose start this brew off in a unique but enjoyable direction. The aroma is earthy with classic citrus aromas, creating a very clean smell. The light gold color is fairer than most versions of this style, but the crisp, clean flavor is right on the money. This brew starts slightly thin in the body, but the dominant hop flavors make you forget about that quickly. The strong carbonation is refreshing and draws this beer to a close with just the right amount of bitterness.
