All of Moylan's beers have Irish names, but this Irish red ale might be their best. It is surely the most distinctive of the Irish ales we reviewed: The mild chocolate aroma is unlike most Irish red ales, and toffee, molasses, and even a hint of caramel make this selection a standout. This beer has a beautiful red hue, and the flavor follows the aroma's lead, staying quite rich with malt essences. Plus, the outstanding hop profile works exceptionally well with all of the full malt flavors. The mouthfeel stays smooth throughout and is full enough to stand up to the 6.5% ABV. Moylan's has crafted a truly wonderful example of this style.
