Released for the brewery’s tenth anniversary, this pecan-infused Belgian quad is a muscular version of Southern Pecan, the brew that put Lazy Magnolia on the map. A richly knit, dark fruit aroma swells to the nose with raisin and fig; sweet molasses, worn leather and tobacco deepen the bouquet. Dark fruit is equally luscious on the tongue with fig, raisin and cherry cresting and subsiding into molasses and pecan; the lovely melding of sweetness and nuttiness creates a sumptuous pecan pie flavor that centers the sip. Unexpectedly, the lush wash dries out to a refreshing finish, thanks to prickly carbonation and some tannic, pecan-skin notes that whisk the sweetness away, leaving just a bit of raisin lingering on the tongue.
