Home Reviews Cincinnatus

This beer’s excellent base stout is only enhanced by its time in bourbon barrels. A complex bouquet of barrel notes (sticky vanilla, bourbon and oak) rounds out maraschino cherry and milk chocolate on the nose. A warm, full mouthfeel first delivers chocolate and cognac—like a cordial—before butterscotch, cherry and vinous grape skin flavors add depth that lasts through the swallow. The bourbon is assertive, but there’s enough roast to support it.
