It's never a tough job to sample Lost Coast's brews: They always seem to be simple, drinkable, and somehow forceful at the same time. When you open Alleycat, the flavors seem to jump straight out of the bottle and into your nose. Hops dominate the nose of this beer, but the malt is hiding in the back. As strong as the aroma is in this brew, you would think the flavor would follow suit, but instead the taste of this beer is actually mellow. We wish it were upped a bit so it could compete with the foods that fit this style best, but what exists is clean and good. If you are looking for an easy-drinking amber, start here.
