Home Reviews Whiskers

The nose on this red wine barrel-aged American wild ale is at equal turns cabernetlike and on the earthy and sweaty side of funky. On the tongue, the barrel’s oak and wild yeast’s dry hay round out acetic lemon tartness. As it warms, the beer offers up fruit highlights including apricot skin, orange juice and cherry flesh. Despite those fruit tones, it finishes with a delicate wine dryness. (Note: This beer is a collaboration with Central State Brewing Co. out of Indianapolis.)
