Old Scratch

Flying Dog is known for fresh ingredients, and you will really notice them in this quality beer. Old Scratch pours a soft amber color with a small but persistent head. In the aroma, the hops are restrained but clean, and the malt scents are fresh and inviting. That freshness continues, as hints of newly baked bread evident in the aroma continue into the swallow. Hop presence in the flavor is citrusy and earthy, and it displays some of the wood charateristics that define this style. This lager's moderately soft body, which is perfect for the style, makes Old Scratch a nice, filling accompaniment to a seasonal meal.
