One Ear

This naked (meaning unspiced) saison is nevertheless zesty; an assertive hop profile plugs powerful lemony aromas between yeast-derived notes of pear and Juicy Fruit gum. Barley, oats and rye weave dry, husky graininess into the flavor to provide a base for gentle earthiness and a haylike, barnyard funk that hearkens to the style’s roots. But a woody, minty hop finish and long-lingering lemon pith place this saison firmly among the family of more citrusy, Americanized versions.
