In just four short years Fox Barrel has managed to rack up a few awards for its cider and weave its way into a number of markets around the country. The flagship cider displays a restrained apple aroma, with hints of cracked pepper and alcohol that tickles the nose. Its flavor, too, is a bit understated, with tart green apple sweetness throughout the tasting experience. As the glass warms, the flavor becomes more multidimensional, revealing hints of honey and stewed apples with cinnamon. Fox Barrel finishes dry, though not as dry as many mass-produced ciders, allowing the residual sugars from the fruit to last deep into the aftertaste.
