This gluten-free dubbel is tawny-brown and quite clear with a big, pillowy beige head. The nose is rich with candy-sweet cherry syrup and alcohol. On taste alone, this beer barely fits into the dubbel style, with a massive initial sweetness that’s more syrupy than caramelized, and a slightly rough wheat tartness in the end. The fresh nectarine flavor in the aftertaste is a nice touch, albeit out of place. Endeavor is full-bodied, highly carbonated and has a very dry finish. While it may not be a traditional dubbel, this beer goes a long way to prove there are wonderful options for people with gluten sensitivities.
