Berliner Weisse

A healthy wallop of Brettanomyces funk and sweet hints rise from the effervescent head of this pale, hazy brew. In the mouth, a near-perfect construction of flavors presents a simple, yet highly enjoyable loyal portrayal of the style. A wash of lactic sourness initiates the tip of the tongue, and then proceeds to scrape the entire palate front to back. As it overtakes the top of the tongue, little pools of sourness fill up on the sides, jabbing and pricking playfully. While fruity hints linger backstage throughout the sip, this brew remains a nice example of tightly made simplicity, finishing dry on the tongue with just a brush of pear.
