Boulevard’s Irish red shows off a massive, frothy head atop a clear, amber brew. It gives off a very slight aroma; there’s only a touch of toasted bread crust in the nose. The flavors are not as timid though, beginning with a big, bready malt presence supporting floral, earthy hop flavors. The hops seem a bit strong for the style, but the beer still properly leans toward malt. Together, a medium body, bubbly carbonation and mild alcohol warmth create a punchier brew than expected, but overall, theflavors blend well.
