Irish Red Ale

RATING
87

Saranac Irish Red pours dark gold with a sizable, frothy head. Its aroma meets expectations, showing off generous amounts of toasted, sugary malts with an understated flowery scent in the background. After a quick start of toasted bread sweetness and a cereal note, the flavor develops an assertive hop character that is certainly flavorful, but a bit out of character for the style. The hops are incredibly floral and spicy, lending the beer a bitter touch.
