Your Daily Pint for Thursday, April 24, 2014 is: SARANAC LEGACY IPA

What it is: a 6.5%-ABV American IPA

What it tastes like:
a big aroma twists sweet tangerine, grass clippings and muted onion scents up to the nose. Bready, slightly toasted malts spread out while tangerine, pine and grassy hop flavors color the sip. A rush of drying bitterness swells in the finish.

About the beer: Legacy was originally launched to celebrate the brewery’s 125th anniversary and was a modern interpretation of a recipe designed by the brewery’s founder. It was such a hit, the beer’s now available in four-packs year-round.

What to pair it with: The brewery suggests drinking this alongside curry, so we’ll take it a step further and recommend these coconut curry pretzels (beer plus pretzels plus curry!).

This year, Matt Brewing Co., aka Saranac to many, is celebrating its 125th anniversary (it started back in 1888 as West End Brewing) and in honor of the hallmark occasion, they’ve released Legacy IPA, which blends old school and new school hops. Check it out as we give the new beer a spin.
