Here’s a reason not to fast-forward through commercials with your DVR: Indie directors Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola teamed up to shoot a new Stella Artois ad. Bizarre, right? The new spot, which marries Coppola’s love of gadgets and Anderson’s eye for detail, takes place in a 1960s-meets-the-future French apartment, where curiosity forces a bachelor to realize his true love. We’ve seen this over-arching theme before in beer commercials, where a character’s forced to choose between his beer and his woman. The quality of the shoot, however, makes this commercial a must-see.
According to a recent post on Adage, AB-InBev is attempting to target “unisex consumers who are well-educated, have slightly higher income and value ambition.”
So, are you well educated, do you earn a slightly higher income and value ambition? What do you think? I think this commercial could use more Bill Murray.
