Will the beer taste as sweet?

Would you go to a post-race party if there wasn’t actually a race? Would a no-race post-race beer taste as sweet?

Inspired by a cartoon about instant gratification, an event in Philadelphia is hoping rewarding yourself immediately will be more appealing than rewarding yourself after an effort.

The Philly 0.0 offers beer, food and entertainment without the sweat. There will even be an award ceremony, with all attendees having an equal opportunity to win.

The event is targeted to both runners and non-runners, and there’s even a virtual race option if you want the novelty bib and shirt outside of Philadelphia.

But do you think it will work? Is this gimmick all in good fun or is it missing the key component?

You can learn more about the “race” on its website.
