Your Daily Pint for Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 is: UPSLOPE BARREL AGED BROWN ALE
What it is: a 7.6%-ABV brown ale aged in rye whiskey barrels.
What it tastes like: Punchy whiskey scents twist pepper and vanilla around subtle toasted malts and chocolate. Big whiskey barrel notes blend with the brown ale, coloring a wash of toasted malts with sweet, spicy whiskey; a woody barrel flavor marks the finish.
What’s the deal? This beer is the first release in Upslope’s new Lee Hill Series, a lineup of quarterly releases designed for cellaring. The series is named after Uplsope’s original location on Lee Hill Road in Boulder, Colo.

New beer: If you’re headed to GABF in Denver this year, don’t miss the collaboration beer Upslope made with Falling Rock Tap House. It’s called Southern Hemisphere Rye Pale Ale, and it’s hopped with Ella, Nelson Sauvin and Wakatu hops.
