Your Daily Pint for Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 is: UPSLOPE THAI STYLE WHITE IPA

What it is: a 6.5%-ABV white IPA brewed with ginger, coriander, Thai basil and lemongrass.

What it tastes like: A bright, sharp aroma of lemon, grapefruit and ginger lifts out of the glass. Creamy, bready-sweet malts carry similar flavors across the tongue: Zippy lemongrass and ginger accentuate the citrusy hops; Belgian witbier yeast lends a touch of spice to the sip. Gentle bitterness pulls the sip to a pleasantly dry finish.

Graduated from the mixer: This creative take on a white IPA was originally included in the Colorado brewery’s spring Mix Box variety pack. Apparently, people liked it so much that the brewery upgraded it to its Limited Release series. If you live in Colorado, Arizona, Texas or Wyoming, look for it in sixpacks now.

Out-of-staters: If you’re out on the East Coast, far from Upslope distribution, and really want to try a Thai-inspired beer, check out White Thai from South Carolina’s Westbrook Brewing.

Pair it with: Try this drunken chili crab and longevity noodles dish.
